Competitive Results
We had an awesome run! We racked up the high score of the night of 54 in our first match, and made it to the finals! We were routinely able to collect 21 out of the 24 balls available, when we weren't troubled by wireless communication issues between the offensive coordinator and the field master or by our recurring bump-sensor issue. In the finals, the game switched to full court. We hadn't had the opportunity to test out full-court mode very much before the competition, so it was anybody's guess what would happened. We ended up meeting our match in Team K. We still had a great time, and feel like we built a great machine. Our results, by round, were:
- Sweet Sixteen: 54 points -- High score of the night, for all robots!
- Elite Eight: 12 points -- Our ball collector had gotten bent and caused a ball jam, but we were able to eke out just enough points beforehand. See a video on this page.
- Final Four: 36 points -- after recovering from a failed bump sensor at the first dispenser! See a video on this page.
- Finals, Round 1: 0 points -- We couldn't recover from a failed bump sensor. Our robot never knew it had reached the dispenser.
- Finals, Round 2: 9 points -- We were able to score a few before the wireless communication dropped out again.
- Finals, Round 3: 0 points -- The bump sensor issue returned to haunt us, paving the way for a glorious Team K Victory! Congrats, guys!
